FAQ
I have always loved reading books as a child. It was a means of exploring different environments and cultures to that of being a Yoruba and a Nigerian child. With the advent of Social Media, I used the platform to express life events, which people seem to really enjoy over the years. The choice to be an author came when I decided I didn’t want to do an Owambe party to mark my 50th. Writing about lessons I had learned then popped into my mind and I jotted down as I reminisced. As I went down that rabbit hole, I realised I may actually have enough material for a book.Â

This is my very first book. So I’m a book Author virgin so to speak.
Inspiration is everywhere. Watching my kids transform from being dependent to being independent and functional adults is a huge inspiration that I’m still learning from. I can have ideas reading posts on social media, overhearing conversations when working as an uber driver. Watching series and films on movie platforms etc

My advice is simple, you have to want to write for you, not for clout. Read lots of books! The more you read, the better you write. Enjoy your writing. If you’re not enjoying it, something has gone wrong. Believe in yourself or at the very least, have people who believe in you. Finally, never give up! I think this is the most important advice of all.
At the onset, it was very daunting and I doubted myself but I have these friends who had more faith in me than I had in myself. Their push was the reason I didn’t quit on writing.

I have travelled to many places because reading is theory about life lessons while travelling is the practical aspect of life lessons. Travelling allows me to compare cultures and people.

My mum would prefer if I said the bible but to be honest, I really don’t have a favourite…yet

I used to be a core romantic genre book worm. I still love romance but realistic books as opposed to the fantasy novels I binged read as a child. Romance books are great for exploring different places and different cultures too.
Â
To be honest, I find inspirations in everything. Everywhere I look, everyone I meet, every country I visit.

Holding my published book in my hand was surreal. To see that I didn’t quit but actually finished the project was the proudest moment for me.
